Dear Toastmasters & guests,
We had successfully finished our in-house table topic and international speech contest on
17 Feb and 3 March respectively. It was one of the most valuable evenings we had at Victoria Toastmaster.
We have 5 contestants in the table topic contestants, Karen Chow, Charlie Lang, Angela Lee, Flora Chan, Chris Lin. Congratulations to Champion Charlie, Chris the first runner up and Karen Chow runner up by giving an excellent impromtu speaking on the topic "How you survive the financial sunami?"
For international speech contest, we had Napoleon who urged us to treasure what everyone has - relationship. We also had Philip who shared with us how to get
things achieved. I am sure some of the audience especially those who
are after a slimmer body would be happy to learn from Karen an effective
way to lost weight. Eva's speech was invaluable for us as she
demonstrated courageous way of delivering speech. Brian who talked
about how to become a winner finally became the winner in the contest.
Once again I would like to congratulate all the winners of the contest:
Champion Brian Hodgson with speech title "The Winner",
1st runner up Eva Tsai with speech title "Hey Look at this big stuff".
2nd runner up Karen Chow with speech title "Make Things Happen".
Charlie and Brian will be representing our club to join the area contest on 28th
March at Chinese University.
Here we would like to thank all the contestants who gave us all an enjoyable
evening of valuable speeches.
Special thanks our immediate past president Lorna Christofis and Synergy Toastmaster club president Tony Cheung for their kind assistance as the Chief Judge for our Table Topic and International Speech contests.
We would also like to thank Keziah Wong and Karen Lui who did an excellent job as the MC of the evening and other facilitators to make the events happened smoothly.
Looking forward to seeing you all on 28th March at area contest.
